The Bag

Here's my bag.  There've made some changes since last season.  I've swapped out most of the Gigagolf clubs from my original set.  The only one left now is the hybrid.  That one will stay until I get a chance to try out some new hybrids, something that can be tough for a lefty golfer.  The pictures on this page need to be changed, but I haven't had a chance yet.

Here it is, covers and all.  Callaway Warbird Hot Stand bag.  I love Callaway's  XTT technology, a plate at the  bottom of the bag which rotates to the ground.  Makes this setup really stable on the course.  The double straps make this easy to carry. The cooler pocket on the other side is pretty key, too.

Here's a closeup of the top of the bag.  Those covers came from stealthclubcovers.com.  The original covers gave my setup an eclectic look that I really didn't like.  My game is bad enough without the clubs looking like a complete mess.

I've made a couple of changes since I took these pictures, read on for details:

What I'm Swinging:
Woods:
  • Cleveland Launcher Ti460 10.5º Driver.  Stock Cleveland R Flex shaft.
  • Wilson Deep Red II 3 and 5 Woods, 15º and 18º with stock Wilson/Graffaloy shafts.
  • The Gigagolf driver and Ram 3 wood in the pictures are out.  Mainly because I've never been able to hit that driver very well, and because I wanted to match the Deep Red 5 wood that I have hit very well.
Hybrid:
  •  Gigagolf PowerMax KC2 3h, 19º.  UST - HDX 80 Graphite shaft, R Flex.
Irons & Wedges:
  • Wilson Staff Ci7 Control 4 iron through PW, True Temper - TX105 shafts, R Flex.
  • Titleist Vokey Chrome 200 Series wedges: 252.08 & 258.08.  The 58º wedge is pretty versatile, and it doubles as a sand wedge and lob wedge.
  • I still have the Gigagolf SGS Black Wedges.  52.10, 56.12, & 62.08.  I keep them around in case I want to swap out a fairway wood and go with the three wedges.  Haven't done it yet, but it's nice to have the option. The Gigagolf wedges have the stock Gigagolf/True Temper Feather Flight shafts.
Putter:
  • Ping Stainless Anser 2. Don't get me started on putters. I've also got a couple of old Spaulding TPM putters that I like a lot, but have to get them bent like the Anser. I'm always on the lookout for something better, but what I'm really looking for is the Wilson 8802 style putter. I keep hoping that they'll make it in a lefty version every time the release new putters.

  1. I like to look of your setup! I was wondering about your experience with GigaGolf, namely the P2 driver. I have ordered one of their wedges (56* SGS Black SW) that I do like, but I'm in the hunt for a new driver and wasn't sure how their quality stood up against some of the older name-brand clubs I can get for about the same price (even less with Tour Edge, for example). Please let me know what your experience is with these GigaGolf clubs compared to other drivers or other clubs you've hit that may have been "brand" clubs. Thank you very much for you time.

  2. The P2 Driver has been pretty good. I have no complaints about build quality with any of my gigagolf clubs. I haven't hit that many other drivers, but I'd say it stacks up pretty well next to the name-brand clubs. One of the problems of being a lefty golfer who isn't Phil Mickelson is that it can be difficult to find shops with equipment that you want to buy, forget demo stuff to try before you buy.
